Transient protection for 100V rails
The 1.5SMC120A_R1_00001: With a breakdown voltage minimum of 114V and a clamping ceiling of 165V at 9.1A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform), it protects downstream semiconductors from surges up to 1500W peak pulse power. The 102V reverse standoff voltage means the diode draws negligible leakage below that level, so it sits across a 100V bus without loading it during normal operation. The 165V clamp ensures that a transient event is held below the typical breakdown threshold of downstream 150V-rated MOSFETs or ICs.
Package and board integration
The wide temperature margin means derating for ambient heat is less aggressive than with a 125°C-rated device.
Panjit lists the 1.5SMC120A_R1_00001 as Active in production. Sourced through independent distribution channels.
