1.5 kW bidirectional TVS — obsolete, sourced per RFQ
The 1.5KE10CA_R2_00001: Its 8.55 V reverse standoff voltage and 14.5 V clamping point make it a fit for protecting 12 V DC rails against transients that exceed the normal operating envelope.
Above that, breakdown begins at 9.5 V minimum, and the clamping voltage at peak pulse current is 14.5 V. That 14.5 V ceiling protects downstream semiconductors rated for 15 V or higher. Peak pulse current is 103 A for the 10/1000 µs waveform, which is the standard telecom surge shape. The 1500 W rating is the product of clamping voltage and pulse current at that waveform — a useful figure for comparing energy-handling between parts, but the real margin depends on the actual transient duration and duty cycle in your application. The wide range means derating for ambient temperature is minimal until you approach the upper limit.
DO-201AE axial — through-hole mounting and board fit
The DO-201AE axial package is a standard through-hole form factor with a 0.052-inch (1.3 mm) lead diameter. It mounts into a 0.040-inch (1.0 mm) hole on the PCB and is wave-solderable. The axial leads allow the diode to be inserted vertically or horizontally depending on board clearance. Being a single bidirectional channel, one device replaces two unidirectional TVS diodes in anti-series for symmetrical clamping — saves board space and component count on bipolar rails.
