500W bidirectional TVS in a through-hole axial package
It clamps at 243V maximum with a 2.1A peak pulse current, and its 150V reverse standoff voltage makes it a fit for protecting 150V DC rails or 120V AC lines. The DO-15 axial package (DO-204AC) is through-hole, which means it can be hand-soldered and replaced on a repair bench without hot air – a practical advantage for rework and field service.
The 500W peak pulse rating is the energy the part can absorb in a single surge event. For a 150V rail, the 243V clamping voltage ensures the protected circuit sees no more than that during a transient – but the designer must verify the downstream components' voltage rating has margin above 243V. Bidirectional means a single device protects against both positive and negative surges, which saves board space compared to using two unidirectional diodes back-to-back.
