Transient suppressor for automotive 12V rails
The 7.02V reverse standoff voltage makes it suitable for protecting 5V or 3.3V logic rails fed from a 12V bus with a low-side Zener clamp.
No official successor part number has been published for direct drop-in replacement. For a new design, consider the active P6SMB series parts in the same DO-214AA footprint. Verify the breakdown and clamping voltages match your rail requirements — onsemi continues to manufacture other breakdown voltages in this series.
DO-214AA SMB footprint and mounting
Packaged in the standard DO-214AA (SMB) surface-mount case. The 0.50 mm lead pitch and gull-wing leads are compatible with automated pick-and-place and reflow soldering. The cathode band identifies the unidirectional orientation — confirm polarity against your PCB layout before assembly. The SMB package copper tab on the cathode side conducts heat to the PCB pad; the datasheet recommends a minimum pad area of 30 mm² per terminal to keep junction temperature under 150°C during repetitive surge events.
