600W Zener TVS for 28V rail clamping
The P6KE33ARL is a 600W peak-pulse-power Zener TVS diode from onsemi, designed to clamp transients on a 28.2V nominal rail (reverse standoff) to a maximum of 45.7V at the peak pulse current of 13.2A (8/20µs waveform). The single unidirectional channel is housed in a through-hole T-18 axial package, rated for continuous junction temperatures from -55°C to 150°C.
For BOM positions that still call out this exact order code, supply is limited to existing distributor and broker inventory.
Clamp voltage and breakdown window
Minimum breakdown voltage is 31.4V, which sits 3.2V above the 28.2V standoff — this guard band ensures the TVS does not conduct during normal rail ripple or DC tolerance. The 45.7V clamping ceiling defines the maximum voltage the downstream components must survive. For a 28V bus, a 60V-rated capacitor or IC is the typical derating target.
