Two-channel I²C/SPI isolator with 5 kV isolation
The onsemi NCID9210 is a 2-channel, unidirectional digital isolator built for I²C and SPI buses, delivering 50 Mbps data rate across a 5000 Vrms isolation barrier using capacitive coupling.
100 kV/µs CMTI and 25 ns propagation delay
Common-mode transient immunity (CMTI) is a minimum 100 kV/µs — this means the isolator holds its output state through fast voltage swings across the barrier, critical in motor-drive or inverter applications where the ground plane jumps with each switching event. Propagation delay is 25 ns max (both directions), with pulse-width distortion capped at 10 ns — tight enough for SPI clock rates up to 50 Mbps without skew eating into the setup/hold margin. Rise and fall times are 2.2 ns and 3 ns typical, keeping the edge rate clean for the downstream receiver without excessive ringing on a well-terminated trace.
