Dual Darlington optoisolator in SOIC-8
The onsemi MOCD223R2VM packs two Darlington-output optocouplers into a single 8-SOIC package, each channel rated for 150 mA continuous output at up to 30 V. The minimum current transfer ratio of 500% at 1 mA forward current means a low-side microcontroller pin can switch a relay or solenoid without an external driver transistor — the Darlington gain does the heavy lifting.
Switching speed and temperature range
Turn-on time is 10 µs typical, turn-off 125 µs typical — the Darlington output trades speed for gain, so this part suits DC load switching at a few hundred hertz rather than high-speed data isolation. Rise and fall times (8 µs and 110 µs typical) confirm the same bias.
Package and surface-mount assembly
The supplier device package is 8-SOIC — no exposed pad, so standard reflow profiles for small-outline ICs apply.
