This reduces inrush current and EMI when switching inductive loads like solenoids, relays, or small motors — the triac sees a soft turn-on instead of a hard slam. With a minimum static dV/dt of 600 V/µs, the output resists false triggering from line transients or commutation noise — a common failure mode in noisy industrial environments where a standard optotriac would self-fire and latch on.
