What the 1000% CTR means for your load drive
The H11G1SM guarantees a minimum current transfer ratio of 1000% at 10 mA forward current. That means with 10 mA into the LED, the Darlington output can sink at least 100 mA — enough to drive a small relay coil, a solenoid valve, or a PLC input module directly without a buffer transistor. The Darlington output with base access gives you the option to add a base resistor or a speed-up capacitor to tailor the switching response, though the typical turn-off time of 100 µs is inherently slow compared to a phototransistor — budget for that in your timing budget.
4170 Vrms isolation and industrial temperature range
Rated for 4170 Vrms isolation, this part meets the reinforced isolation requirements for many industrial and medical power supplies, motor drives, and sensor interfaces where galvanic separation is a safety or noise-rejection requirement. The -40°C to 100°C operating range covers factory-floor enclosures, outdoor telecom cabinets, and under-hood automotive auxiliary circuits — no need to derate for cold starts or warm ambient bays.
Active lifecycle and sourcing reality
Supplied in tube in the 6-SMD gull wing package. The surface-mount footprint is standard for optoisolators; the gull-wing leads are inspectable and reworkable with a hot-air station. Sourced and quoted to order against your BOM quantity — confirm the tube quantity and the mating half (LED drive circuit and output load) before committing.
DC input only — no AC rectification
The input type is DC. There is no built-in anti-parallel LED for AC line sensing; if your application requires 50/60 Hz mains detection, you need an external bridge rectifier or a different optoisolator with back-to-back LEDs (e.g., the H11AA1 series).
