Isolation and signal transfer
The H11A617A300: Rated for 5300Vrms isolation between input and output — this is a reinforced-level isolation barrier for safety applications like mains-referenced sensor interfaces or isolated power-supply feedback loops. Current transfer ratio (CTR) is specified at 40% minimum and 80% maximum when the LED forward current is 10mA. This means the output transistor can sink at least 4mA and at most 8mA with that drive — useful for driving a logic input or a low-power relay directly. The output transistor is rated for 70V collector-emitter voltage and 50mA continuous current. That voltage ceiling suits 24V or 48V industrial logic rails, and the current handles typical PLC digital inputs or small signal loads.
Switching speed and temperature range
Typical rise and fall times are 2.4µs each. This gives a practical data rate around 100 kbps — fine for slow optocoupler duties like status feedback or isolated switch reading, but not for high-speed serial links. Operating temperature spans -55°C to 100°C. The full military-temperature low end suits outdoor or cold-environment gear, while the 100°C upper limit covers most industrial enclosures without active cooling.
Package and board fit
Housed in a 4-DIP (0.300-inch, 7.62mm) through-hole package. The DC input type means the LED is driven with a DC forward current — no AC line rectification built in. The forward voltage is 1.35V typical at 10mA, and the absolute maximum forward current is 50mA.
