Switch topology and signal path
The FSA2276UMX is a single-channel DPDT (2:2 multiplexer/demultiplexer) audio switch from onsemi, designed for routing analog audio signals in portable and consumer electronics. On-state resistance is 1 Ohm maximum, which keeps insertion loss low in the audio band — the voltage divider formed by the switch resistance and the load impedance stays under 0.1 dB for a 32-Ohm headphone load. The -3 dB bandwidth extends to 380 MHz, far beyond the audio range, so the switch passes the fundamental and harmonics of a 192 kHz DAC output without roll-off.
Supply flexibility and break-before-make
Break-before-make switching ensures the two signal paths never short together during the transition, which prevents thumps or DC offsets from coupling between input sources.
Housed in a 12-UFQFN package (supplier device package 12-UMLP, 1.8 mm x 1.8 mm), the FSA2276UMX occupies less than 3.3 mm² of board area — suited for space-constrained audio paths in smartphones, tablets, and wearables.
