5 kV isolation for mains-referenced circuits
Rated for 5000 Vrms isolation, this optocoupler handles the reinforced insulation requirement between primary-side control logic and secondary-side power stages in off-line supplies, motor drives, and industrial I/O modules. The 4-SMD gull wing package (4-SOP) sits low on the board and keeps creepage distance consistent with the 5 kV rating — no need for a slot or additional clearance cutout in the PCB.
CTR window and switching speed for logic coupling
Current transfer ratio is guaranteed between 130% and 260% at a 5 mA forward current. That window means the output transistor saturates reliably across temperature and LED aging without overdriving the input side. Rise and fall times are 5.7 µs and 8.5 µs typical, which supports switching up to roughly 50 kHz — fine for relay drivers, PLC input isolation, and slow PWM links.
Industrial temperature grade and output ratings
Operating from -40°C to 110°C, the FODM1008 fits outdoor telecom cabinets, factory-floor controllers, and under-hood automotive auxiliary circuits without derating. Output transistor handles up to 70 V and 50 mA continuous, with a Vce(sat) of 300 mV max at rated current — low enough to drive a 5 V logic input directly.
