Active optoisolator for isolated feedback and signal transfer
It accepts a DC input and drives a transistor output, making it a straightforward choice for isolated feedback loops in switch-mode power supplies, PLC digital input modules, and general-purpose signal isolation where you need a clean galvanic barrier without a lot of external circuitry.
CTR range sets the LED drive budget
The current transfer ratio is specified at 100% minimum and 200% maximum, both measured at a forward current of 10 mA. That 2:1 spread means the design must tolerate the full CTR range without saturating the output transistor or dropping out at the low end. The output transistor can sink up to 50 mA continuously and saturates at 400 mV max, which is tight but workable for driving a downstream logic input or an optocoupler-load resistor.
