10 Mbps digital isolation with 25 kV/µs transient immunity
The FOD260LS is a single-channel optoisolator from onsemi rated for 10 Mbps data rate with a minimum common-mode transient immunity of 25 kV/µs. That CMTI figure is more than double what you get from a standard 6N137-class part, which means this device holds the output state through fast ground-potential shifts on the bus — a real advantage in motor-drive or industrial-fieldbus environments where the wiring is long and the noise is brutal.
Supply flexibility and output drive
The output side runs on a 3V to 5.5V supply rail, so it mates directly with 3.3V or 5V logic without a separate level translator. The open-collector Schottky-clamped output sinks up to 50 mA per channel and delivers typical rise/fall times of 22 ns and 3 ns — fast enough to keep the bus timing clean at 10 Mbps.
Isolation rating and temperature range
Galvanic isolation is rated at 5000 Vrms, suitable for safety barriers in industrial and medical equipment.
Active production, surface-mount package
It is supplied in a tube and packaged in an 8-SMD gull wing footprint — the same 0.4-inch body width as the through-hole DIP-8, so the PCB layout transfers directly if you are migrating from a legacy 6N137.
