5300 Vrms isolation and CTR window
Rated for 5300 Vrms isolation between input and output — this is the IEC 60747-5-5 reinforced isolation class, suitable for safety barriers in medical equipment, industrial drives, and power supplies where galvanic separation between a low-voltage control side and a high-voltage power stage is mandatory. This CTR window means the output transistor saturates reliably across the full production spread — no gain-sorting needed at the board level for logic-level coupling at the rated forward current.
Through-hole DIP package and temperature grade
Housed in a 6-DIP package with 0.400-inch (10.16 mm) body width, through-hole mount. Rated for -55°C to +100°C operating ambient temperature — the full industrial temperature band with margin on the cold side.
Output ratings and switching speed
Output transistor rated for 70 V maximum collector-emitter voltage and 50 mA continuous output current. Typical turn-on time is 2 µs, turn-off time 3 µs — fast enough for 115.2 kbps serial isolation or PWM coupling up to about 100 kHz, but not for high-speed digital buses like CAN or RS-485 without a Schmitt-trigger buffer on the output. Rise and fall times are 1 µs and 2 µs typical respectively. The 300 mV maximum Vce saturation at the rated output current ensures the output pulls close to ground when the LED is on, leaving clean logic-low levels for downstream CMOS or TTL inputs.
