Parametric profile and fit
The CNY171FR2M: The 4170 Vrms isolation rating covers reinforced insulation for mains-referenced circuits in industrial PSUs, motor drives, and PLC digital inputs. Current transfer ratio is guaranteed between 40% and 80% at 10 mA forward current, so the output can sink 50 mA continuously with a 70 V collector-emitter ceiling. Typical turn-on and turn-off times are 2 µs and 3 µs respectively, with rise/fall of 4 µs/3.5 µs — fast enough for 10-100 kHz switched signals but not for high-speed data isolation.
Supplied in a 6-SMD Gull Wing package (6-SMD device package), surface-mount with a 1.27 mm pitch. The wide-body footprint provides creepage distance commensurate with the 4170 Vrms rating. Tape & Reel packaging suits high-volume pick-and-place assembly.
Lifecycle reality and sourcing
Quantities are lot-specific; we source and quote each request against an RFQ with current availability and pricing confirmed at quote time. No pin-compatible direct replacement from onsemi is documented — a board-level redesign using a different optoisolator family may be required for long-term supply.
