Device identity and sensor architecture
The onsemi ASX342ATSC00XPED0-DP is a VGA-resolution (640 x 480) CMOS image sensor fabricated as a camera-on-a-chip system (CIS SOC) in a 1/4-inch optical format. The 5.6 µm x 5.6 µm pixel pitch delivers a per-pixel light collection area that balances sensitivity against dynamic range — larger than the 2–3 µm pixels found in high-density mobile sensors, so it captures more photons per pixel in low-light scenes without sacrificing readout speed.
Frame rate and motion-capture ceiling
Rated at 60 frames per second at full VGA resolution, the sensor can track fast-moving objects without motion blur — a fit for machine-vision inspection lines running at conveyor speeds above 1 m/s where a 30 fps sensor would alias the motion.
