1MP global-shutter image sensor for automotive vision
The onsemi AR0144ATSM20XUEA0-DPBR is a 1MP 1/4-inch CMOS image sensor with a 1280H x 800 V active pixel array, delivering 60 frames per second. The 3 µm x 3 µm pixel size gives it a solid balance of low-light sensitivity and resolution for a 1/4-inch optical format — useful in surround-view cameras, driver-monitoring systems, and other ADAS vision modules where the lens stack is already constrained by the compact housing. That certification is what lets a Tier-1 supplier drop it into a production BOM without running their own qualification on every lot.
Automotive-grade build and supply-chain fit
An engine-bay ECU or a door-mount camera module sees 105 °C on a summer-grade road surface; the AR0144 still has margin above that. Lifecycle status is Active, meaning onsemi continues to manufacture and support this order code through authorized distribution. For a production program running another two years, this part does not force an early migration. Packaged in tray — standard for optical sensors to protect the die and micro-lens stack during pick-and-place. The tray format also simplifies bake-out scheduling if the MSL floor life is exceeded during rework.
What the 60 fps and pixel pitch mean for the camera design
60 fps at 1280 x 800 means the sensor can capture a vehicle moving at 60 km/h with less than one pixel of motion blur per frame when the exposure time is set to 1/120 s or shorter. That is the practical ceiling for a surround-view camera that also needs to read a license plate at a parking-lot roll speed. The 3 µm pixel pitch is a middle-ground choice — it gives better low-light response than a 2 µm pixel on the same optical format, but the die size stays small enough to fit a 1/4-inch lens. If your application needs 0.1 lux sensitivity, this pixel will outrun a smaller-pitch sensor on the same lens, but the trade-off is a lower resolution ceiling for the same die area.
