Isolation and signal transfer
Rated for 5300Vrms isolation, this optoisolator provides galvanic separation between a DC input and a transistor-with-base output. The 20% minimum current transfer ratio at 10 mA forward current means the output side needs enough collector load to pull the output low while staying above the CTR floor. Typical turn-on and turn-off times are both 2 µs, which suits low-to-moderate speed switching — think PLC digital input isolation, relay drive, or status feedback from a 24 V field sensor back to a 5 V logic side.
Housed in a 6-DIP (0.400-inch, 10.16 mm) through-hole package. The 6-DIP footprint is a standard 300-mil body width — same as the classic 4N25/4N35 family. Through-hole mounting suits prototyping, socketed designs, or boards where rework access matters. The 30 V maximum collector-emitter voltage on the output side handles common 24 V logic and relay rails.
