With a reverse standoff voltage of 10V, the diode begins conducting at the minimum breakdown voltage of 11.7V and clamps the transient to a maximum of 16.7V at the peak pulse current. The 1500W rating assumes an 8/20 µs waveform per the Mosorb™ datasheet; real-world pulse width and duty cycle will shift the power capability.
