What this protection diode does
The 1N6375 is a unidirectional Zener TVS diode from onsemi's Mosorb™ series, designed to clamp voltage transients on a 10V rail. It delivers 1500W peak pulse power (1.5kW) in an axial-lead package.
Voltage ratings and clamping behavior
With a reverse standoff voltage of 10V, the diode begins conducting at the minimum breakdown voltage of 11.7V and clamps the transient to a maximum of 16.7V at the peak pulse current. The 1500W rating assumes an 8/20 µs waveform per the Mosorb™ datasheet; real-world pulse width and duty cycle will shift the power capability.

Mounting and thermal notes
The axial through-hole package has a junction temperature range of -65°C to 175°C. The copper lead diameter and board trace width set the thermal path — for repetitive pulsing, keep the lead length short and the solder fillet full to avoid hot-spotting at the glass passivation junction.
