1500W Zener TVS in DO-201AD axial – surge protection for legacy bus lines
The 1.5KE100ARL4G is an onsemi Mosorb™ Zener TVS diode rated for 1500W peak pulse power at the 10/1000µs waveform, with a minimum breakdown voltage of 95V and a maximum clamping voltage of 137V at the peak pulse current of 11A. Designed for general-purpose circuit protection, it handles transient overvoltage events on power rails, telecom lines, and industrial control buses where through-hole mounting is preferred for mechanical robustness or rework access.
Breakdown and clamping – where the protection window sits
With a reverse standoff voltage of 85.5V, the device stays transparent below that rail level, then breaks down at a minimum of 95V to shunt the surge. The clamping voltage caps at 137V, limiting the voltage seen by the downstream circuitry during a 10/1000µs pulse. The 11A peak pulse current rating at the clamping voltage gives a direct check on whether the TVS can absorb the expected transient energy without exceeding the 1500W peak power limit.
Obsolete – sourcing options for the BOM line
onsemi has marked the 1.5KE100ARL4G as Obsolete. For an existing BOM position, the options are to source remaining distributor stock or to qualify a cross-reference from the same 1.5KE family with matching breakdown and package. The part is supplied in Tape & Reel (TR) format, which is typical for axial-lead diodes in automated insertion, but obsolete status means reel quantities are finite and diminishing.
