LIN physical layer for automotive node designs
The NXP TJA1128FTK/0Z is a single-wire LIN transceiver designed for automotive body-control and sensor-actuator networks. It handles the full LIN protocol physical layer at 20kBd, translating the single-wire bus voltage levels to the 5V logic of a local microcontroller. The part is AEC-Q100 qualified and rated for a junction temperature range of -40°C to 150°C, covering under-hood and engine-bay environments. Supply voltage acceptance from 5V to 28V means it can run directly off a vehicle battery, with no intermediate regulator needed for the bus side.
Package and mounting — HVSON with exposed pad
The TJA1128FTK/0Z comes in a 14-pin HVSON (3x4.5 mm) with an exposed pad. That pad must be soldered to a PCB thermal land and, ideally, connected to a ground plane for heat spreading.
Active production — no LTB risk on new designs
ROHS3 compliance is confirmed, so no exemption-expiry concern either.
