Active bridge controller for PFC stages in desktop and notebook PSUs
The TEA2206T/1J is an active bridge controller from NXP Semiconductors, designed to replace diode bridge rectifiers in the power factor correction (PFC) stage of switched-mode power supplies. It targets desktop and notebook PC power supplies where every milliwatt of conduction loss matters. Rated for a supply voltage up to 440 V and drawing only 2 mA supply current, the controller drives external MOSFETs to achieve significantly lower forward voltage drop than a standard diode bridge, directly improving efficiency in the PFC stage.
Temperature grade and package fit for a compact PSU layout
The 8-SOIC package (3.90 mm body width) keeps the board footprint small enough to fit alongside the PFC inductor and bulk capacitor on a compact power supply PCB.
