Active part, dual-supply 4-bit translator
The NTS0304EPWJ is an active-production 4-bit translating transceiver from NXP, still in current manufacture and suitable for new designs.
What the dual supply range means for your board
The B-side (VCCB) spans 1.65 V to 5.5 V, so it talks to legacy 3.3 V peripherals, 5 V sensors, or industrial I/O without an extra regulator. Because it is a translating transceiver, data flows in both directions without a direction pin — the part auto-senses the drive direction per channel. This saves a GPIO on the controller and simplifies the layout for I2C, SPI, or UART level shifting. The 4-bit width matches common bus sizes: a 4-wire SPI bus, a 4-bit address/data nibble, or four discrete GPIO signals. For wider buses, multiple NTS0304EPWJ devices can be paralleled on the same supply rails.
Temperature grade and package — hand-solderable and wide-range
The supplier device package is also 14-TSSOP, so the footprint is standard across the NXP TSSOP-14 family. Available in Tape & Reel for production pick-and-place or Cut Tape for prototype runs.
Compliance and sourcing posture
ROHS3 compliant — no exemptions needed for EU or UK market entry. The part carries NXP's active lifecycle status, meaning it is still in the factory's standard product portfolio and quoted through authorized distribution channels.
