800 MHz Cortex-M7 crossover MCU for industrial edge compute
The NXP MIMXRT1172CVM8A is a 32-bit single-core crossover MCU from the i.MX RT1170 series, built around an ARM Cortex-M7 core running at 800 MHz. It targets applications that need real-time deterministic control alongside rich connectivity — think motor drives, factory automation gateways, and edge-compute nodes that bridge fieldbus to Ethernet. The 2M x 8 on-chip RAM supports frame buffering and code execution without external memory in many designs, while the peripheral set includes CANbus, Ethernet, USB OTG, and multiple serial interfaces (I²C, SPI, SAI, SPDIF).
