The NXP MIMXRT1062CVJ5B is a crossover MCU from the i.MX RT1060 series, built around an ARM Cortex-M7 core running at 528 MHz. It integrates 1M x 8 on-chip SRAM and relies on external program memory, which keeps the internal RAM free for latency-critical data paths and real-time control loops.
At 528 MHz, the Cortex-M7 delivers deterministic single-cycle multiply-accumulate and hardware divide, which matters for real-time control loops and sensor fusion algorithms. The speed rating is the maximum operating frequency; actual throughput depends on flash wait states and cache hit rates, but for compute-bound tasks like motor FOC or Ethernet packet processing, this core keeps the pipeline fed without stalling on external memory access.
Connectivity and I/O for industrial communication
The MIMXRT1062CVJ5B carries CANbus, Ethernet, USB OTG, multiple I²C and SPI buses, plus SAI and SPDIF for audio. With 127 general-purpose I/O lines, it can interface to parallel displays, external memory buses, and fieldbus controllers without external GPIO expanders. The 196-LFBGA package (12x12 mm) keeps the footprint compact for space-constrained control boards.
