96 MHz Cortex-M33 with 128 KB Flash — fit for real-time control
The NXP LPC5504JBD64E is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M33 MCU from the LPC550x series, clocked at 96 MHz single-core. It carries 128 KB of Flash and 80 KB of RAM — enough headroom for a modest firmware stack with a CANopen or Modbus RTU protocol layer, plus local data logging. The 45 I/O lines include a dedicated Flex COMM interface that can be configured as SPI, I2C, UART, or I2S without external muxing, which simplifies the BOM for a multi-protocol fieldbus node.
The 64-HTQFP package with exposed pad helps pull heat into the PCB ground plane — useful when the core is running continuous ADC conversions at 96 MHz.
Peripherals that reduce external component count
