3.3 µH shielded power inductor for automotive DC-DC converters
The Murata LQH3NPH3R3MMEL is a 3.3 µH ±20% shielded wirewound inductor in the LQH3 series, built on a ferrite drum core. It carries a 1.9 A continuous current rating and saturates at 1.52 A, meaning the rated DC bias stays below the saturation knee so inductance holds within spec across the full load range. AEC-Q200 qualification places this part in the automotive-grade passive component class — it has passed thermal shock, mechanical shock, vibration, humidity, and solderability stress tests per the AEC-Q200 rev D standard.
DCR, saturation margin, and thermal budget
Max DC resistance is 100.8 mOhm. At the 1.9 A rated current, I²R dissipation comes to about 0.36 W — that heat must be conducted through the 3.00 mm x 3.00 mm footprint into the board copper. The 1.52 A saturation current is 80% of the thermal rating, so the inductor stays linear through the rated load; derate if ripple current pushes the peak above 1.52 A. Self-resonant frequency is 55 MHz, which is well above the 1-2 MHz switching frequencies typical of automotive point-of-load converters.
Package and board integration
1212 (3030 Metric) package with a 3.00 mm x 3.00 mm body and 1.50 mm seated max height. The shielded construction contains the magnetic field within the ferrite sleeve, so adjacent inductors on a dense 4-layer board can be placed at standard clearance without mutual coupling degrading the converter efficiency. Tape & Reel packaging supports automated pick-and-place at volume.
