8.2 µH wirewound for automotive noise filtering
The LQH32NZ8R2K23L is a Murata drum-core wirewound inductor in the LQH32 series, rated 8.2 µH ±10% at 1 MHz. It carries AEC-Q200 qualification, meaning it meets the stress and reliability tests for automotive-grade passive components — suitable for DC-DC converter input/output filtering, EMI suppression, and power-line conditioning in engine bay or cabin electronics.
225 mA current, 1.6 Ohm DCR — the load-budget trade-off
Rated 225 mA continuous with a maximum DC resistance of 1.6 Ohm. At full rated current, the I²R loss is about 81 mW — negligible for a 1210 footprint but enough to shift the temperature rise a few degrees above ambient. The unshielded construction means the magnetic field couples into nearby traces; keep sensitive analog or RF routing at least one package width away. Self-resonant frequency is 23 MHz, with a Q factor of 20 at 1 MHz. Above SRF the inductor behaves capacitively, so this part works best in switching converters switching below 2–3 MHz or as a low-pass filter element in the 1–10 MHz band.
