82 µH at 90 mA — DC-DC output choke or low-current filter
The Murata LQH2MCN820K02L is a drum core wirewound inductor in the LQH2 series, rated 82 µH ±10% at 90 mA continuous current. The 9.75 Ohm max DCR is the dominant loss term at this current — at 90 mA the DC loss is about 79 mW, which is within the 0806 package dissipation for a 85°C ambient. The 14 MHz self-resonant frequency means this inductor is usable as a filter choke up to a few MHz, but above 14 MHz the impedance becomes capacitive. For a 1 MHz switching regulator output filter, the 82 µH value and SRF are well matched.
Unshielded construction — layout matters
This is an unshielded drum core inductor. The magnetic field radiates from the open core, so adjacent traces carrying sensitive analog signals or high-impedance nodes should be kept clear by at least one component width. The ferrite core material is specified, but without a shield can the coupling coefficient to nearby inductors is uncontrolled. It is a standard two-pad SMD layout — the solder pads should extend 0.5 mm beyond each end of the body for reliable fillet formation on standard FR-4.
