Inductance and current rating — the two numbers that decide the fit
The LQH2MCN6R8M52L is a 6.8 µH drum-core wirewound inductor rated for 285 mA continuous DC current. That current rating is the saturation floor — push past it and the ferrite core saturates, inductance drops, and the ripple current in your buck converter or filter stage runs away. The 1.6 Ohm max DCR means at full rated current the I²R loss is about 130 mW; in a small 0806 package that heat has to get out through the board copper, so keep the ambient under 85°C and give the pad some thermal relief.
Self-resonant frequency and unshielded construction
Self-resonant frequency is 65 MHz. Above that the inductor looks capacitive, so keep your switching frequency well below that — typically under 10 MHz for a clean power-stage design. Unshielded means the magnetic field radiates; keep sensitive traces or other magnetics at least a couple of millimeters away. The ferrite core material is standard for power filtering up to a few MHz.
Surface-mount, compatible with standard reflow profiles. Available in Tape & Reel for volume or Cut Tape for prototypes.
