10 µH wirewound in a 0806 footprint
The Murata LQH2MCN100K02L is a drum-core, ferrite-based wirewound inductor in the LQH2 series, delivering 10 µH ±10% in an unshielded 0806 (2016 metric) surface-mount package. Rated for 225 mA continuous current with a maximum DC resistance of 1.56 Ω, the I²R loss at full rated current is about 79 mW — well within the thermal budget of a standard FR4 board in still air. The self-resonant frequency sits at 48 MHz, so this part is usable as a power-supply filter choke or DC bias line inductor up through the low-MHz range before the impedance turns capacitive.
Unshielded construction and board placement
Unshielded means the magnetic field couples into nearby traces and components — keep a clearance of at least one part width (2.0 mm) from sensitive analog or RF routing to avoid unwanted coupling. The ferrite core absorbs moisture slowly; no bake required unless the reel has been open longer than 72 hours in a humid environment. Pin 1 is marked by a dot on the top face — orientation matters only for visual inspection, not electrical function, since the part is symmetrical.
