6.8 µH shielded inductor for automotive and industrial DC-DC
The Murata LQH2HPZ6R8MGRL is a drum-core wirewound inductor in the LQH2 series, offering 6.8 µH inductance with a ±20% tolerance and a shielded ferrite core. Rated for 860 mA continuous current, it also carries a saturation current (Isat) of 830 mA — the point at which inductance begins to roll off sharply under load.
Package, footprint, and rework considerations
The shielded design reduces magnetic flux leakage into adjacent traces — useful when the inductor sits near sensitive analog or RF circuitry on the same board. Supplied on tape and reel (or cut tape), the package is compatible with standard pick-and-place and reflow assembly. The 1008 footprint is straightforward to hand-rework if needed — the ferrite body handles hot air well, and the orientation mark (pin 1) is clearly indicated on the top face.
Temperature range and deployment environment
The self-resonant frequency of 40 MHz sets the upper frequency limit for effective inductive behaviour — above this point the part becomes capacitive, so it is best suited for DC-DC converters switching in the low-MHz range.
