22 µH shielded wirewound for automotive and industrial DC-DC
The LQH2HPZ220MGRL is a 22 µH ±20% shielded wirewound inductor from Murata's LQH2 series, built in a 1008 (2520 Metric) surface-mount package. The ferrite core and drum-core construction give it a self-resonant frequency of 15 MHz, which means it stays inductive well into the switching range of most buck converters running at 1-2 MHz. Rated for 430 mA continuous with a saturation current of 460 mA, the margin between the two is tight — about 7% — so the real-world current limit is the lower of the two. The 1.632 Ohm max DCR means a 430 mA DC bias produces about 300 mW of copper loss, which the 1008 body dissipates without exceeding the 105°C upper operating limit in still air.
AEC-Q200 and the 105°C ceiling
The ferrite core material maintains its inductance characteristic across this band, though the DCR increases with temperature per the copper winding's positive temperature coefficient.
