Active AEC-Q200 qualified 330 nH power inductor
The DFE2MCAHR33MJ0L is an active-production, AEC-Q200 qualified shielded wirewound inductor from Murata's DFE2M series. Rated 3.9 A with a saturation current of 4.2 A, and a maximum DC resistance of 29 mOhm, it handles automotive-grade power rail filtering and DC-DC converter output stages without derating concerns at the nominal load.
330 nH at 3.9 A — what the ratings mean for your BOM
The 330 nH inductance is tested at 1 MHz, typical for switching regulator frequencies in the 1–3 MHz range where this value provides useful ripple attenuation. With 3.9 A continuous current and a saturation floor at 4.2 A, the inductor holds its inductance up to roughly 8% above the rated current — the metal core material (not ferrite) avoids the abrupt saturation knee of a ferrite core, giving a softer roll-off that a controller loop can manage. The 29 mOhm max DCR translates to roughly 0.44 W of copper loss at full rated current — well within the thermal budget given the 150°C maximum operating temperature and the 0806 body's ability to shed heat through the board vias.
The -40°C to +150°C operating range covers the full under-hood ambient temperature envelope (grade-0 equivalent), with margin for self-heating from the DCR loss at high current.
0806 footprint and shielded construction
The shielded construction contains the magnetic flux within the core, reducing radiated EMI that could couple into nearby signal traces on a dense automotive PCB.
