150 nH shielded power inductor for automotive DC-DC
The Murata DFE2MCAHR15MJ0L is a 150 nH shielded wirewound inductor from the DFE2M series, rated for 4.8 A continuous with a saturation current of 6.1 A. It fits under-hood or cabin power stages that see 125°C ambient and brief excursions to 150°C.
Current handling and saturation margin
The 4.8 A rated current is the DC bias at which the inductance typically drops 10% from the 150 nH nominal value. The 6.1 A Isat figure is the current at which inductance falls 30% — a 1.3 A headroom above the rated current means a 20% overload transient (e.g. a motor start or capacitor charging) stays inside the linear region without collapsing the inductor. Shielded metal-core construction contains the magnetic flux within the 0806 body, reducing radiated EMI into adjacent traces or sensitive analog circuits on the same board layer. The 1.20 mm seated height fits standard 1.6 mm PCB stack-ups with clearance under a 2.0 mm keep-out zone on the opposite side.
