Active-production power inductor for DC-DC rails
The Murata DFE252012F-R47M=P2 is a shielded wirewound power inductor in the DFE252012F series, built with a flat-wire winding on an iron powder core. It delivers 470 nH ±20% with a continuous current rating of 4.9 A and a saturation current floor of 6.7 A — the 1.8 A headroom between rated and saturation means the inductor stays in its linear inductance region under most load transients, so the output ripple on a buck converter does not spike during a step load.
Parametric fit for point-of-load converters
The 23 mOhm max DCR sets the copper-loss floor — at 4.9 A the I²R loss is about 0.55 W, which the 1008 (2520 Metric) package dissipates into the PCB copper plane. The flat-wire construction reduces AC resistance at switching frequencies above 1 MHz compared to a round-wire winding of the same DCR, so the inductor runs cooler in a 2 MHz buck converter than a round-wire part with the same DC resistance.
