What the 2.7 A rating means for your rail
The DFE252010P-1R0M=P2 is a shielded drum-core wirewound inductor from Murata's DFE252010P series, built with a flat-wire winding and iron powder core. Rated for 2.7 A continuous current, it handles the bulk of a point-of-load converter's output without saturating — the saturation current is 3.8 A, giving a 1.1 A headroom above the rated current before inductance drops off. The 54 mOhm max DCR at 2.7 A means about 0.39 W of copper loss; in a 1008 package with a 1.0 mm seated height, that heat has to be managed through the board's copper plane.
Board-fit and temperature envelope
The shielded construction keeps flux lines contained, so it can sit next to sensitive analog traces or RF sections without coupling noise into the signal path.
