6.8 µH shielded wirewound for DC-DC filtering
The Murata DFE252010F-6R8M=P2 is a 6.8 µH ±20% shielded drum core wirewound inductor in the DFE252010F series, built with flat wire on an iron powder core. Rated for 1.1 A continuous DC current, with a saturation current of 1.4 A — the inductance rolls off gradually above the rated current due to the iron powder core's distributed gap, making it suitable for bias-heavy POL converters where the DC current approaches the inductor rating. Maximum DC resistance is 420 mOhm; at 1.1 A the I²R loss is about 0.51 W, which the 1008 (2520 Metric) package dissipates through the PCB copper — the flat wire construction reduces AC resistance at typical switching frequencies (1–3 MHz) compared to a round-wire winding of the same DCR.
Shielded construction and temperature range
The magnetic shield contains the field within the core, reducing radiated EMI into adjacent traces and components — important in dense layouts where the inductor sits near a sensitive analog line or RF section.
