4.7 µH shielded wirewound for DC-DC rails
The Murata DFE252008U-4R7M=P2 is a shielded drum-core wirewound inductor in the DFE252008U series, built with an iron powder core and flat-wire winding for low-profile power conversion. Rated at 1 A with a saturation current of 1.6 A, the 4.7 µH inductance holds up under the ripple current of a buck converter output stage — the 340 mOhm max DCR sets the copper loss floor for the thermal budget. The 1008 (2520 metric) footprint and 0.80 mm seated height fit tight PCB stack-ups where a taller winding would block a backside component or a chassis wall.
Current handling and saturation margin
Shielding contains the magnetic flux within the core, which keeps the inductor from coupling noise into adjacent traces or a nearby RF front-end — important when the inductor sits close to a sensitive analog rail. Flat-wire construction reduces the DC resistance per volume compared to round wire, so the 340 mOhm DCR is the figure to use for I²R loss calculation in the power-stage efficiency model.
Package and board integration
Supplied on tape and reel in both cut-tape and full-reel quantities, so it feeds into a standard pick-and-place line without a feeder change.
