240 nH at 6.5 A — the DC bias ceiling matters
The Murata DFE201612P-R24M=P2 is a shielded drum-core wirewound inductor in the DFE201612P series, rated 240 nH with a ±20% tolerance. The 6.5 A current rating is the saturation-limited figure at the stated tolerance — above this current the inductance drops below the ±20% band, so the real DC bias headroom for a 5 A rail is tight. The 23 mOhm max DCR sets the I²R loss at full rated current to just under 1 W — fine for a 0806 footprint if the board has a copper pour under the part, but a narrow trace feeding the inductor will add its own drop.
0806 footprint, 1.0 mm seated height — board-fit constraints
The metal-alloy core and full shielding mean the part radiates minimal stray field into adjacent traces — useful when the inductor sits near a sensitive analog rail or a radio front-end.
Active production — sourcing posture for the BOM line
The DFE201612P series is a standard-power inductor family, so allocation pressure is low outside a broad passive shortage cycle.
