Power inductor for DC-DC converter rails
The Murata DFE201610E-R47M=P2 is a shielded drum-core wirewound inductor in the DFE201610E series, built for surface-mount power supply filtering where board height is tight. Rated at 3.6 A with a saturation current of 4.8 A, this 470 nH part carries the full load current of a point-of-load converter without saturating the core — the margin between the DC bias and the Isat point keeps the inductance stable under transient peaks. Maximum DC resistance of 32 mOhm sets the I²R conduction loss at roughly 0.4 W at full rated current — within the dissipation capability of the 0806 (2016 Metric) body when the PCB copper pours the thermal pad. The metal composite core and shielded construction contain the magnetic flux, so the inductor can sit adjacent to sensitive analog or RF circuitry without coupling noise into the signal path.
