Core inductance and current handling
The Murata DFE201210U-1R5M=P2 is a shielded drum-core wirewound inductor in the DFE201210U series, rated 1.5 µH ±20% at 1 MHz test frequency. Its 1.6 A continuous current rating and 2.5 A saturation current (Isat) define the usable load range — the inductor supports the full 1.6 A without saturating the metal core, and the 2.5 A Isat gives headroom for transient peaks before inductance drops sharply. The 138 mOhm maximum DCR sets the I²R conduction loss at rated current: at 1.6 A, the resistive loss is roughly 350 mW, which must be accounted for in the thermal budget of the 0805 footprint.
Package footprint and board-fit constraints
The metal core construction and full shielding reduce radiated EMI, making this part a candidate for power rails near sensitive analog or RF circuitry on the same board.
