Transient suppressor for legacy 100V bus protection
The 1.5KE120CAE3/TR13 is a bidirectional Zener-type TVS diode from Microsemi's 1.5KE series, designed to clamp transients on DC power rails and signal lines up to 102V nominal. The 102V reverse standoff voltage defines the continuous DC operating level — below this threshold the device draws negligible leakage. Breakdown occurs at a minimum of 114V, and the clamping voltage is held to 165V maximum at the rated 9.1A peak pulse current. This clamping margin protects 120V-rated bus components from inductive load dumps and lightning-coupled surges.
DO-201AA axial package and board integration
Housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial-lead package, the device is intended for through-hole mounting. The axial body suits point-to-point wiring on terminal strips or perforated boards where a surface-mount TVS would not withstand the mechanical shock. The CASE-1 supplier device package is the standard Microsemi outline for this power class. Operating temperature spans -65°C to +150°C junction, covering military and industrial thermal profiles without derating.
