Clock synthesis for line-card timing
The ZL30142GGG2 is a single-circuit PLL clock synchronizer from Microchip, purpose-built for Ethernet, SONET/SDH, and Stratum timing applications. It accepts a clock input and generates a clock output with a maximum frequency of 622.08 MHz, covering OC-12 line rates and 10 Gigabit Ethernet reference clocks.
I/O configuration and package
The ZL30142GGG2 provides a 3:4 input-to-output ratio, with differential outputs (No/Yes differential input/output), allowing direct connection to high-speed backplane or line-card clock distribution without external conversion. Housed in a 64-ball CABGA (9x9 mm, supplier device package 64-CABGA), the surface-mount package supports dense PCB layouts common in blade servers and central-office line cards. Packaged in a tray, the part is suitable for automated pick-and-place assembly; the ROHS3 compliance avoids lead-free process restrictions in European or RoHS-regulated production lines.
The part carries ROHS3 compliance, the highest current RoHS exemption level, covering all ten restricted substances including phthalates.
