Device identity and interface
The UPD350D/Q8X from Microchip Technology is a USB controller with an SPI interface, supporting USB 3.0 standards. This places it in the role of a dedicated USB protocol handler that communicates with a host processor over a serial peripheral interface, offloading USB timing and state-machine management from the main MCU.
Supplied in a 28-VFQFN exposed-pad package (4x4 mm body, 28-QFN supplier device package), delivered in tray format. The exposed pad under the QFN requires a thermal via pattern in the PCB to conduct heat to the ground plane — the datasheet's recommended land pattern should be followed for solder-joint reliability and thermal performance.
Lifecycle and compliance
ROHS3 compliant, which covers the full RoHS exemption list including lead in high-melting-temperature solders.
