Rated at 1500W peak pulse power under the 10/1000 µs waveform, this diode can clamp a 18.2A surge to 82.4V maximum. The 51V reverse standoff is the DC operating voltage it will not leak on; the breakdown starts at 56.7V minimum. That 5.7V window between standoff and breakdown is the margin you budget for rail tolerance and temperature drift.
Unidirectional – single-rail protection
This is a single-channel unidirectional device. It clamps positive transients above the breakdown voltage while the cathode is tied to the protected rail and the anode to ground. For AC or dual-polarity rails you would need a bidirectional part; here the circuit is a straightforward DC rail clamp.
DO-214AB (SMC) – board footprint and thermal path
Housed in a surface-mount DO-214AB package.
Tape & Reel – ready for automated assembly
No manual handling needed; the reel feeds directly into the feeder.
