16V rail clamp, 1500W surge rating
Its 1500W peak pulse power (10/1000 µs waveform) handles surges like load dump or lightning-induced spikes without letting the clamped voltage exceed 28.8V at 52.1A peak pulse current. The 16V reverse standoff voltage means the diode stays off below 16V, drawing negligible leakage; above that, the breakdown voltage starts at 17.8V and clamps hard. This is a clean fit for a 12V or 15V supply rail where you need margin above the nominal rail but below the downstream regulator's absolute maximum.
DO-214AB package and temperature range
The SMC footprint has a large copper tab on the cathode side; for the 1500W rating to hold, the PCB land pattern should include a thermal pad or via array under the tab to pull heat into the board copper.
Active production, sourced per RFQ
That means the BOM line is safe for new designs and long-term production without a forced migration. This is a current-production part; we source it through our multi-distributor network and quote to order. No stock-holding claim — lead time and price are per RFQ.
