1500W bidirectional clamp for 13V rails
The SMCJ13CAE3/TR13 is a Zener-type bidirectional TVS diode rated for 1500W peak pulse power (10/1000 µs waveform) with a reverse standoff voltage of 13V.
Breakdown and clamping margins
Minimum breakdown voltage is 14.4V, providing a 1.4V guard band above the 13V standoff — enough headroom for normal 12V rail ripple without nuisance triggering. The clamping voltage of 21.5V at 69.7A peak pulse current sets the upper limit the downstream circuitry must survive; a 12V nominal rail with a 20V absolute-max input stage would need a tighter-clamping part.
