Active production — no LTB concerns
SMBJ51E3/TR13 carries an Active product status from Microchip Technology.
Clamping a 51V rail — what the ratings mean
The reverse standoff voltage is 51V, meaning the device will not conduct appreciably below that rail voltage. Breakdown occurs at a minimum of 56.7V, clamping at 91.1V max at the peak pulse current of 6.6A. That 91.1V clamp is the voltage the downstream circuitry must survive during a surge event.

Single-channel unidirectional protection
A single unidirectional channel — suitable for DC rail protection where polarity is fixed. No power line protection feature (internal crowbar or foldback), so it relies on the Zener avalanche effect alone.
